Name: Mike Novo
Age: 42
Job: I am the HVAC manager for B & I Contractors and have more than 20 years of experience in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, pipe fitting and welding for commercial and industrial plumbing.
I oversee the HVAC/pipe fitting department to ensure our standards are met on larger jobs such as Island Coast High School, Lee County Stockade and the Manatee County Judicial Center. I am passionate about my job and am dedicated to providing quality work to our customers.
In the near future:
My goal is to help B & I maintain a competitive edge in the tight market that has resulted from the current economy and to continue to play a major role in our future success and growth.
One way we do this is by providing bi-annual training for all field employees to increase team building and individual expertise in an employee’s line of work.
Long-term goals:
Plumbing and Mechanical magazine recently named B & I Contractors the “Best Contractor to Work For.”
I want to continue to make B & I a great place for employees by supporting programs such as our employee stock ownership plan, which enables everyone to share in the growth and prosperity of the company and have an opportunity to accumulate capital for their retirement needs.
Personal long-term or short-term goals?
Short-term goals (8 to 10 years) are my daughters’ education.
Long-term goals are, my family and friends’ continued health, happiness, respect and faith.

Outdoors, softball, soccer, motorcycle riding with my wife.
Family:
My wife of 23 years, Dee, who was my high school sweetheart, and my daughters, Sierra and Kianna, ages 13 and 15, students at Gulf Middle and Ida Baker High.
What do you plan to do in retirement?

Last book read:
“Natural Cures They Don’t Want You to Know About” by Kevin Trudeau. The book is very interesting and informative. It makes you look at yourself and modern medicine.
