Elementary School 'H' - North Port

Most of the public schools in Florida are referred to by a letter (or letters) as they are being designed and built. The actual name of the school is often unknown until the project is near completion. The Elementary School 'H' in North Port is now known as Lamarque Elementary School.

Much of the larger diameter copper tubing for domestic water was assembled using Victaulic grooved fittings.

The 4" flanged OS&Y valve in the middle photo is the main water shutoff to the building.


	These water supply and drain pipes are roughed in for a row of toilets in a bathroom group.


	This water supply control box accomodates a hose reel system in the kitchen area.


	Bi-level electric water coolers are commonplace in schools. Elementary School H has XXX of them.


	Three 1250-gallon underground grease interceptors serve the school's kitchen. These cleanouts and manhole covers allow service access to the interceptors.


	A recessed wall hydrant provides water for school maintenance personnel.


	This manual reset gas valve shuts off the LP gas going into the building in case of an electrical power failure.

Handicap-accessible shower, lavs, and water closet


	Electric water heaters serve the smaller areas such as custodial facilities.


	Gas water heaters serve the kitchen and other areas with high-volume water usage.

Both the electric and gas heaters are equipped with
hot water recirculation pumps and thermostatic mixing valves.


	The large custom-built Art Room sink includes a solids intercepter underneath it, in lieu of a regular p-trap.


	This classroom sink includes a cold-only faucet and a bubbler for drinking water.


	The classroom sink on the right includes an emergency eyewash station.

The LP gas lines installed by B & I serve a large variety of kitchen equipment.
