Lee County Justice Center - Shipping & Receiving - Fort Myers
November, 2004 - April, 2006

Installing a 7-1/2 ton concrete grease interceptor is no easy feat. Installing nine of them in a series is all the more difficult. But with the combined teamwork of B & I Contractors' Plumbing Department and JP Murphy, Inc. Site Utilities, nine new grease interceptors will soon serve the prison kitchen at the Lee County Justice Center in downtown Fort Myers.
Concrete Grease Interceptors In Series
The interceptor series consists of seven 1250-gallon tanks weighing 15,000 lbs. apiece, and two 750-gallon tanks weighing 12,000 lbs. each.
Grease Interceptor Invert
The tanks must be set at the proper heights to allow the waste to flow properly. Each interceptor in the series is slightly lower than the one before it.

When the LCJC Shipping & Receiving area is complete, the traffic-rated interceptors will sit several feet beneath a paved area.
Grease Interceptor Cleanouts
The two-way cleanout tees will allow service access if any stoppage should occur between tanks.
