The Health Sciences Building is loaded with stainless steel hand sinks, classroom sinks, and science lab sinks, many with gas/water turrets.
The gas/water turrets in each classroom are supplied through the master shutoff valves, shown here contained inside a shatterproof lockable cabinet box

Hot water is provided to the Health Sciences Building by means of this Lochinvar gas water heater and hot water storage tank. Grundfos circulator pumps help ensure that hot water is circulated through the piping system so that faucets deliver hot water on demand.

The gas piping system coming into the building includes a manual reset safety shutoff valve and a gas pressure regulator. Sch40 steel piping is shown here outside; much of the gas piping inside consists of Wardflex Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing and Fittings.

The red canisters are Hilti Cast-In-Place Firestop Devices. If a fire should occur in the finished building, the firestop devices prevent the spread of smoke and fire between floors wherever a plumbing pipe penetrates the deck.
