Charlotte County Sports Park - Port Charlotte
December, 2007 - January, 2009

The new Charlotte County Sports Park will soon be home to the Charlotte County Redfish (South Coast League) baseball team, as well as the Spring Training home of the Tampa Bay Rays (American League East).

Underground rough-in commenced in December of 2007, as our crew of expert plumbers happily sang "Take Me Out To The Ballgame!" while installing the PVC DWV-Sch40 sanitary and storm drainage systems.

The final plumbing trim items were installed in January of 2009, and the new Charlotte Sports Park earned its Certificate of Occupancy on January 6th, 2009. Congratulations to B & I Plumbing Department, Hunt-Mathews Construction, and everyone else involved in this in-depth construction project. This one earns a Grand Slam!

B & I Plumbers are installing a water closet carrier system which will support a row of wall-hung toilets in a large gang bathroom. The system is comprised of a variety of different piping materials.

CPVC Sch80 (dark gray pipe) and CPVC Flowguard-CTS (light yellow with yellow stripe) plastic piping deliver water to the copper stubouts, which will connect to the toilet flush valves.

The white piping is PVC-DWV Sch40, for drain waste and vent. The larger pipes at the bottom of the carriers send the waste to the building sewer; the smaller pipes rising above the carriers are for venting, to allow air flow through the drain pipes to prevent stoppage.

The blue cast iron Zurn water closet carriers serve as structural supports for the wall-hung toilets, as well as piping into the PVC drainage system. The piping system without the carriers (on the left of the last photo) will serve a row of urinals in a men's bathroom.

Have you ever seen a baseball field before
the turf is put down?

Here’s your chance...

The building going up in the outfield is the new clubhouse and spring training facility for the Tampa Bay Rays Baseball team.
