Startup/Warranty

The HVAC Startup/Warranty Department consists of a small but elite group of HVAC technicians responsible for not only starting all HVAC equipment that B&I Contractors installs, but also warranties for mechanical failures during the first year.

Our technicians must be able to troubleshoot and repair an extremely wide variety of equipment. This list just names a few:

  • Exhaust Fans
  • VAV Boxes
  • Frequency Drives
  • Chillers - both air and water cooled
  • Cooling Towers
  • Pumps
  • Duct Heaters
  • Split Systems
  • Glycol Managers
  • Boilers
  • Electrical Starters
  • Dehumidifiers

In addition, our technicians are responsible for ensuring our sub-contractors work is correct and operational. We work very closely with controls and test and balance to bring the jobs in to the satisfaction of both our General Contractor as well as the owner.

Pipefitting

 B & I Contractors' Pipefitting Department fabricates and installs:

  • Piping
  • Pumps
  • Controls for Commercial/Industrial Chilled Water
  • Hot Water Condensers
  • Refrigeration Equipment

Our state of the art pipefitting and prefabrication shop is located onsite. B & I’s professional team of pipefitters and welders are experts at installing and working with piping systems of all sizes.

Sheet Metal

B & I Contractor’s Sheetmetal Department encompasses all facets of design, fabrication, and installation of sheet metal duct systems for commercial and institutional applications. Our drafting and design department utilizes AutoCAD software to produce the industry’s most comprehensive shop drawings and illustrations to maximize fabrication and installation efficiencies.

Included in our 20,000 square foot fabrication shop is a computer-driven 60” wide coil line for straight duct production and computerized plasma cutting machines for fitting fabrication. Field installation operations are supervised and manned by highly trained and experienced personnel with the expertise to undertake the most complicated projects, while maintaining the highest level of quality workmanship.
